Larry Stangil's D-201 Sport Wing designed by Nick D'Appuso who designed the PJ-260 Senior Aero Sport. Larry's bird has 600 hours on it now and has only had some minor electrical problems.
Here is a picture of Larry's plane:

Here is what Larry told me about his plane (comparing it to the PJ-260):
It is the same as the p-j except it is lightened up. The differences between the 2 planes are mostly weight. My plane weights 1300 lbs. which includes full elect., inverted fuel and oil, radio, wheel pants, and constant speed prop.. The airfoil and spars are the same as the 260. All ribs are stamped aluminum which Nick used to have made. Most of the weight is saved in the engine. The wing is a lot lighter due to less compression members, single ailerons, shorter bottom wings, and no fuel tank in center section. The tail section is redesigned. (lighter and simpler to build). The fuselage is the same to behind the rear cockpit, the landing gear is also Cessna L19. My engine is a lyc. IO-320-b1a. The performance is very good for 160 hp. O get off in 350 feet with full fuel and by myself, it climbs 900 to 1000 f.p.m. and cruise is 110 m.p.h. It is stressed the same as the p-j (if weight is not exceeded). It took me 4 yrs. to build. The first 2 yrs. was only in the winter, but the last 2 was a full time spare time job. I didn't keep track of the cost (as i didn't want to know) but, I would say about $25,000 in 1977 to 1981 money. That was with a used engine.
Neat plane Larry! Thanks.
